Friday Findings: Let's make things better...

The other day we heard the very sad news that one of our StreetTeam friend, Claudia aka MundoGominola past away, a young talented artist who we didn't knew personally but somehow touched us all at the Europeanstreetteam with her gorgeous warm art. There has been a sadness at our forum where we usually laugh, many of us never have seen her face but she is in our minds...

This sad news reminds everyone once again that there might be no tomorrow, we can lose someone close, and be sorry for the things we 'never' had the time for. New year is almost here, maybe this is the time to think of the the things we can do to make the world a better place to live in it in a better way, before we regret the things we didn't do, before it is too late...

Like telling the ones we love, 'I love you' more than ever...

By not forgetting the ones we lost, and give them a safe place in your heart...

To live in peace, no fights, no anger, no hate...

To cry when we need to, so that our humanity not dies...

To quit smoking, eating healthier watch out for ourselves and others around us...

To hug, kiss and love whenever and who ever you can, you can never have enough...

To recycle, upcycle whatever you can and not waste food that others need so much...

By thinking more about our water and energy before it is all gone...

By spending money not only for ourselves but also for others and good causes...

There are many things we can think about and need to change, before it is to late...
One of the last words Claudia said was: " no quiero estar aqui cuando se acaben las risas.." meaning ''I don't want to be here if there won't be laughter''
So let's laugh and wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year!

The solving…or the problem

Many of you will probably know this little story:

A long suffering housefather consults his rabbi with his problem. Rabbi, he says, I am at the end of my tether, we live in a very tiny flat, my wife and I, our two children AND my mother-in-law. I am desperate, he says…
The rabbi knows what to do: Buy a goat, he says.
The man, trusting his rabbi’s wisdom, brings a goat to his house.
The next Shabbat the rabbi asks the man how it goes. Rabbi, the man says, we are all going crazy, the goat eats the furniture, let her droppings on the floor and blats all night. I am at a loss what to do, he says.
The rabbi knows the solution: Get rid of the goat, he says.
The next Shabbat the rabbi informs to the wellbeing of the man. Rabbi, he says, we are all so happy, it was such a relief to get rid of the goat…

What has all this to do with us, you will think… well, we have a problem. As you can imagine, living in a house with fifteen dogs is not an easy matter. Manual labor is cheap in Turkey, so regularly we are tempted to try and find a cleaning lady. This is also not easy, with all the dogs, but once in a while we succeed in finding one. And then… sloppy work, tardiness and big mouths are only some of the problems. Till, to our immense relief, the woman leaves or we let her go.

The cleaning ladies are, nevertheless, a big source of joy. We are thrilled when we find them and delighted when we loose them.
I know, I know, it is a luxurious problem, but…

EST Challenge- Frida Kahlo

We where the winner with our The Time Traveler's Wife necklace for the theme Your Favorite Book. So a new theme is needed.....

As she is my favorite painter and is inspiration for many people I think she would be a great challenge theme for many of us..... Of course, I'm talking about

FRIDA KAHLO

Her paintings, her life, her love for Diego Rivera, Mexico, her jewelry and herself many ways to be inspired by Frida!

Because of the busy times I guess everyone will need some more time so instead of 1 week you will have 2 weeks to participate, deadline is 22 December, all entries will be posted here.
