Wind

Who Has Seen the Wind?
Who has seen the wind?
Neither I nor you.
But when the leaves hang trembling,
The wind is passing through.
Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I.
But when the trees bow down their heads,
The wind is passing by.

A little peek in our home

Before we started making jewelry, we used beads for embroidering and also to make 'insects' that are still flying from the living room lamp.

Most of them are made by us, but sometimes a house guest would get the request: 'do make a bug', so some guest's bugs are also present here.

Step by Step Wire Jewelry

Yesterday we have been contacted by Linda of HightDesertBeadscapes, to congratulate us because she saw one of our jewelry pieces in the summer issue of Step by Step Wire Jewelry! She was so kind to send us the scans of the article.

We where contacted in april about it, Ronna Weltman asked our permission to use one of our images but as it has been 3 months, it was again a nice surprise to hear the news!

After Nisha this makes number two of this month, hope many will follow...

Friday Findings: Cushions & Pillows

Every time when I'm looking for the Friday Findings, there are often hundreds of pages on the subject. This is really a great excuse to scroll through Etsy and find great things. But when I'm looking for the blog (and also treasuries) it is not only the item I'm looking at, actually more important then that are the pictures of the items. I have seen some gorgeous things but didn't include them as the maker didn't take enough time to show her/ his product perfectly. So this reminds me once and again that not only your items have to be great, but also your pictures, to attract people to feature your items and purchase them.

Part 2 The Office

As you know, moving our studio back to our home, involved taking over three rooms in the house. We have already showed you the atelier (workplace) itself. This is the second room, former TV room, now dedicated to office and shipping (packaging) room.

Also here we work side by side.

In this big cabinet our photo archives are stored, boxes and ribbons and in the drowers, the items listed in the supplies shop.

The TV is in the fireplace, what is fine since the house has heating and we hardly ever watch TV.

All the ceilings of the house are executed in the way typical of the region, meticulously built timber by timber. The lamp in the shape of a bunch of grapes is mouth blown glass from Egypt.

A playful touch on the courtains: beaded flowers.

Here we are right now, typing this.

A small collection of brass candle holders on the filing cabinet. On the background a ribbon embroidered piece of ours.

Bubble mailers in all sizes are stored here.

Still working on the sewing room...

Trip to Fairyland...

On our sunday trips we like to discover new places. This time we got quite lost, due to the fact that someone had used the road sign as shooting target. We tried hard to decipher it, but the thing was beyond redemtion.

Fortunately, all roads lead to beautiful places, and the sea is everywhere.

On the way back, we stumbled upon a wonderful establishment, right out a fairy tale:

With all organic elements a magical atmosphere was created, only Snowwhite was missing...

The interior was gorgeous as well.

Gourds as flower pots...

All kind of herbs, dryed and fresh.

Could that be the slipper of todays Cinderella?

And then, the kitchen...

Four odd guys -real life forest gnomes- run the place. Never seen a horse in a kitchen before, but somehow it seemed appropiate.

The bread oven.

The path to the loo's.

The food was, of course, delicious.

Even the kittens were wizzened.

An other seat.

The menu.

The chandeliers were bulbs wrapped in palm tree bark.

It was a perfect evening, please come and join us next time.
